Who You Are



  • 3 years in backend development and strong knowledge in JAVA8 Programming language along with Maven or Gradle.

  • Experience with HTTP protocol and RESTful services using Spring - Boot, JPA, MVC and Security as the backend tier

  • Experience with functional testing, unit testing and code coverage

  • Proficient in SQL. DDL, DML, relational database design patterns and indexes, MYSQL or POSTGRES

  • Proficient on Git, Maven, Continuous Integration tools and Docker;


Nice to have



  • Expertise using Swagger and/or Postman tools

  • Experience on NodeJS and NPM management as well

  • Experience with AngularJS/Angular

  • Expertise on Python/PHP programming for web

  • Expertise on Linux platforms and Shell commands

  • Experience with Sonar and any CI

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join the Calibra Data Engineering team. Do you like working with data? Do you want to use data to influence product decisions for products leveraging fascinating blockchain technology? Our data engineering team works very closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Economic Researchers, Compliance, and Risk Management to build intuitive, secure products to solve some of the most challenging problems, at a scale that few companies can match. This is technically challenging, will have massive global impact, and you will get to work closely with smart folks on an intellectually challenging initiative.

This position is located in our Menlo Park office.

Responsibilities

  • Build cross-functional relationships with engineers, product managers, data scientists and other cross- functional partners to understand data needs and deliver on those needs
  • Identify all possible use cases and business outcomes for allocated areas of ownership
  • Prepare logging specifications and collaborate with engineering teams to instrument logging
  • Envision and build a self-serve data platform which teams can use to answer their own questions with data
  • Identify, collect and transform real-world user interaction, API's and server events data into scalable/extensible schema models
  • Create foundational data capabilities by leveraging your existing data leadership in addition to constantly learning about new technologies
  • Design and implement scalable data repositories to integrate qualitative and quantitative research data
  • Manage the delivery of high impact dashboards and data visualizations
  • Inform, influence, support, and execute our product decisions and product launches
  • Along with Product and Engineering teams, use data to solve problems and identify trends, growth levers, and opportunities
  • Design, build and launch new data extraction, transformation and loading processes in production
  • Work with data infrastructure to triage infrastructure issues and drive to resolution

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Technical Field, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years experience in the data warehouse space.
  • 4 years experience in custom ETL design, implementation and maintenance.
  • 4 years experience working with either a MapReduce or a MPP system.
  • 4 years experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling.
  • 4 years experience in writing SQL statements.
  • Experience in analyzing data to identify deliverables, gaps, and inconsistencies.
  • Experience in identifying and communicating data-driven insights.
  • Experience in managing and communicating data warehouse plans to internal clients.

  • Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, market research and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users will interact with our new products
  • Partner with a brand new product team to solve problems, inform solutions creatively with a variety of data, and identify opportunities in a go-to-market strategy
  • Inform, influence, support, and execute our product decisions and product launches
  • Once product is launched, set KPIs and goals, design and evaluate experiments, monitor key product metrics, understand root causes of changes in metrics
  • The Data Scientist Analytics role has work across the following four areas:

    • Evaluating past experiments to better inform new product launch

The Job:


You will be the senior software engineer in hardware for our ATM platform. You will help us level up and build our own device manager for our Bitstop Bitcoin ATMs and associated hardware components. Potentially, your job will create an ecosystem on its own where you have many manufacturers licensing our software. Your code must be cross platform. It should be initially supported on Windows and Linux for a known set of hardware devices. It will at first support our current hardware but may later be expanded to other software/hardware partners. The ideal candidate for this position will have prior experience programming or working with hardware interfaces for devices such as barcode scanners, bill acceptors, and thermal printers.


Required Skills:
